What is anger? Anger is an instant reaction to an impediment. It is a strong off-putting emotion of annoyance, hostility or rage that might crop up to anyone on any occasion. Anger engenders other awful feelings such as terror, revulsion, disgrace, bad temper, fury, antagonism and even violence and the aggressive response it breeds can harm you. Anger is like a price that you pay for somebody else's fault.


Anger alters the behavior pattern of the person as a result of changes in his emotional status. It is also escorted by physiological and biological changes. Actions consequential from anger often guides to detrimental physiological and health consequences, because the neurons release transmitters during anger strengthens impulsive action and vague rational thought processes. It also raises your heart rate together with the blood pressure and may result in hot reactions. Yet another problem that can arise is even more serious than the former one is that if you cling on to anger for long it is bound to give you tense muscles, strain and grief. Anger is an unvoiced killer. In the words of Mark Twain "Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stocked up than to anything on which it is poured".

Anger also results in problems at home, at workplace and elsewhere. It robs away the value of your life wherever you are. Anger can obliterate your relationship with your spouse, colleagues and others. The extent of your anger, the manifestation of it and the span of you staying in anger, require skillful management to shun further tribulations. At times we can be angry on the correct grounds, against the right people, in the right way at the right jiffy for the right length of time. But bear in mind not to cross those desirable peripheries any time.

Dealing with anger is a tricky matter and entails loads of skills. Articulating, restraining and soothing are the three ways of managing anger. The healthiest way is to communicate your feelings in a confident - and not aggressive - manner. Concealing your anger and then translating or transmitting it to other constructive ways, is yet another way of addressing to anger. But this mode is pretty risky as it can lead to hypertension or depression. You can neutralize anger through distraction, entertainment, humor or by chatting about it, so as to tranquil you down. The third way is to force you to cool down within, by scheming internal responses. You can be angry daily but learn not to demonstrate it so as to diminish the problems it may generate, by any strategic manner. If anger is not permitted to express, it stays in disguise. Anger built up over years can break a person immensely.

When we are angry we usually blame external circumstances and events. Let us try to take the accountability ourselves for a change. If we take responsibility, this is going to completely empower us. If we realize that we are the cause of our anger and do not accuse the superficial world for it, we will also know that we have the authority to get purge this anger. There are a lot of anger management techniques that have been developed and with some researching and experimentation; you will surely find the one that works for you.
