If the Law of Attraction isn't working for you or you find the results to be sporadic, perhaps there is underlying resentment you can address. It might sound odd, but once you explore your true feelings surrounding the things you want to attract into your life, you can best go forward in actually attracting them. Stop being defeated and start attracting from an optimistic stance.
First start by brainstorming over several things that you have wanted in your life. These things do not necessarily have to be material, as they can be new people, places, qualities and situations. When you have a short list of some of the things that you have been wanting or trying to attract into your life, begin by choosing one to start focusing on for the next step.
Next, you will take one of those items and solely focus on it for this exercise. You can repeat this for the rest of the items on your list, but it's important to address one at a time.
With this first item you will need to think about the reasons why you seem to want this in your life. Fully explore the many reasons and try to come up with a good, solid ten reasons to list for that one thing. Once this is done you will need to relax and start thinking back about why you may not have had this in your life up to this point. This part of the exercise can bring up many old thoughts and feelings from the past that you might have buried deep within your subconscious.
For example, say you want to have more loving, supportive, loyal friends and acquaintances in your life and this is something that is somewhat lacking. Sure, maybe there are a few key people around you, but you might be wanting to expand your social circle and activities with some good people. Thoughts might come up surrounding this desire as to how you have always though of yourself- maybe as a loner, or that in high school some people didn't like you for some reason, you were chosen last to be on teams or people thought of you in a certain way that kept you out of larger social circles.
Now ask yourself why you still believe all these things today. On some level some part of you still identifies with your past-self and has dragged that baggage along with you into the present. In order to move on, get over it and actually attract what you want, you'll have to first associate with a new, improved view of yourself and truly believe in it. This new view must be congruent with your desires in order to get the results you want.
This is not about making up a fantasy or lies about yourself, but it is about adopting a new point of view about what you once thought. Poor, self-defeating thinking habits, stuck on a subconscious level of your mind, will defeat you from attracting what you want.
Finally, you will have to reinforce the new thinking habits constantly until they sink in and become second nature and you actually begin to look at life differently. Each time you find yourself having an old, negative, self-defeating thought about something, you will need to correct it by seeking positive alternatives. You will probably have to go through the process stated above many times to come to some solid conclusions about what has been holding you back.
Remember, the Law of Attraction is always working, everything you think attracts something to you based on that thought. To determine the directions that your life will take, for the better, you will need to dig deep and be willing to go through this truth-telling process. Unwillingness to be completely honest with yourself and give yourself the real reasons why you think you are stuck on a particular issue will lead to defeat in this area.
Go through the brainstorming process as many times as needed and you will ultimately get to the bottom of many reasons that have driven you into walls that have stopped your progress. If you follow the process honestly and openly, you will get the results you want and underlying resentments won't rule your attraction point any more.
